The Art of Printmaking: A Visual Dialog
Description
The MACC's latest exhibit is from artists throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada. The show is a juried and will accept all types of printmaking modes. The invention of the printing press in the 15th century popularized printmaking as an art form. There are so many different techniques used in printmaking: woodcut, engraving, etching, lithography, and screen printing to mention a few. Check out this exciting show and see the variety of techniques and outcomes of this historical art form.
This exhibit is sponsored by Myrtle Press printmakers at the Verge Center for the Arts. A collaborative printmaking workspace for the Sacramento creative arts community, their mission is to provide opportunities for the community to learn and explore printmaking. They offer a variety of printmaking and book arts, including intaglio, relief, papermaking, bookbinding, screen printing, monotype, lithography, and letterpress.
A special artists' reception is set for Friday, July 11 at 5:30 PM.
